Job Description
The Energy Commission seeks results-oriented individuals for the above position.
Job Purpose:
The job holder will assist the Head of Energy Efficiency and Promotion in executing energy efficiency projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in formulating technical proposals and monitoring energy efficiency projects
- Assist in developing and implementing projects in collaboration with relevant agencies in efficient energy production, transmission and distribution
- Assist in the elaboration of rules and regulations to ensure standards and proper labeling regime for appliances
- Explore opportunities of climate-related financing mechanisms to finance energy efficiency project
- Make appropriate recommendations relating to the efficiency and effectiveness of energy efficient projects
Required Skills or Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- Masters Degree in Economics, Finance or related discipline with at least 2 years relevant post qualification experience in the energy sector
Competencies:
- Knowledge in research and analytical techniques
- Knowledge in Project Management and Evaluation
- High computer proficiency
- Good knowledge of the role of other regulators in the energy sector
- Competencies in report writing and presentation
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- Team player and good interpersonal relations
- Ability to travel and work in remote areas of Ghana
- Self-motivated and proactive
