Job Title: ROV Engineer (10028355)
Job description
- ROV support of Eastern Development Asset (EDA) and Exploration activities: up to 3 drilling rigs, USAN FPSO, MPSV / OIMR vessel, ROV support vessel; up to 5 ROV vehicles;
- Plans, prepares, and manages ROV operations liaising with Client Departments and ROV contractors. Ensures correct level of supervision for non-routine ROV operations;
- Follows up daily on EDA ROV activities, in close coordination with ROV contracted personnel and Company representatives onboard the vessels, offshore installations and drilling rigs;
- Manages all existing ROV contracts in cooperation with Contracts and Cost Control departments, approves invoices. Evaluates existing contracts to propose improvements at the time of renewal;
- Ensures the implementation by Contractors of the Company HSE policies through the application of the HSE bridging document and other documents as applicable;
- Organizes and prepares ROV intervention operations in coordination with project engineers, vessel superintendents, drilling and exploitation entities;
- Reviews all procedures related to ROV operations, including testing and reception procedures for new ROV systems and associated tooling and equipment. Organizes testing of ROV systems, tools and equipment;
- Evaluates ROV performance and optimizes operations. Maintains statistics and KPIs of ROV and tooling performance. Participates in the Call for Tender process, technical evaluations and selection of ROV contractors. Contributes to ROV budget preparation;
- Manages the ROV tools owned or rented by EDA (inventory, maintenance, renewal, etc.);
- Monitors industry technological innovations with respect to ROV operations or development. Advises management of their potential use;
- Supervises staff and contracted ROV personnel;
- Supervises Company ROV Specialist Trainees: defines tasks and training program, follows up and evaluates their performance;
- Establishes and maintains up to date: video library, and database of EDA owned or rented ROV tools and equipment (quantities, operational condition, location);
- Acts as the ROV Technical Authority for the DW District, provides feedback to HQ when required;
- ROV operations are regularly followed up, contracts effectively managed, ROV KPIs recorded and analyzed, ROV performance optimized, technical compliance with the Company standards is ensured;
Required skills
Education
Degree in Engineering or equivalent
Experience
10 years experience in offshore Oil & Gas construction industry as ROV Pilot/Operator of which 3 years in a senior position (ROV Superintendent / ROV Team Leader) on a deep offshore oilfield project. If the candidate holds Masters degree in marine / mechanical / electrical engineering or equivalent, the ops experience is reduced to 5 years (out of which 3 years in senior position).
