2. Organizational Context: At PSI Rwanda, we believe in measurable results to design, implement, evaluate, and inform our health interventions. The RM&E ensures a disciplined and strategic approach to social marketing and BCC with systematic data collection, analysis, interpretation, and use of data for improved programmatic evidence-based decision-making.

3. Description of Duties:
The Research Consultant is expected to strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of social marketing methodologies by reading relevant PSI toolkits and getting acquainted with analyses geared towards behaviour change and consequently be able to deliver on the following activities:

Qualitative and/or quantitative research consultant(s):

  • Develop study designs and data collection tools following social marketing and behavior change methodologies, conduct small-scale qualitative studies;
  • Data cleaning, analysis, and report writing for study completed across PSI health areas;
  • Supporting the RM&E junior staff in study designs, data analysis, and report writing
  • Reviewing and editing study designs and reports produced by junior research staff
  • Be assigned to other relevant tasks required which relate to the above tasks

 

4. Results/Expected Output as per assignment:

  •  Final study design(s) and/or cleaned dataset(s)
  •  Final study report(s) and/or activity report(s)

5. Qualifications/Requirements:

  •  At least a Masters Degree in Public Health, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Demography, Sociology, Education, Communication, Anthropology, or in Psychology;
  •  Possess at least 3 years of professional experience in research, data analysis, report writing with proven and traceable relevant experience;
  •  Expert knowledge of SPSS (quantitative analysis) and Atlas.ti (qualitative analysis);
  •  Strong writing and speaking skills in English and Kinyarwanda;
  •  Good knowledge of French would be welcome but not mandatory;
  •  Knowledge of social marketing and BCC would be an asset.

6. Competencies:

  • Shares knowledge and experience, possess team spirit and good organizational skills
  • Time management skills to beat deadlines
