Texchange Limited is an e-commerce business operating in a niche technical market for online portals.
Job Title: Business Development Manager
Employment Type: Full time, minimum of 45 hours per week
The Business Development Manager is responsible for implementing the organization’s business development strategy, identifying new business opportunities, coming up with effective marketing plans and programmes to exploit existing opportunities, maintaining key relationships and negotiating and closing business deals. The position has set financial targets to help the organization meet its projected revenue generation. This position requires a person who has the ability to recognize opportunities, and the sales experience to successfully negotiate and close deals.
Responsibilities:
- Initiate marketing strategies and coordinate actions to influence the market
- Clarify goals and reach agreements maintaining the interests of all parties
- Proactively develop and improve products and services
- Understand clients’ needs
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues and clients
- Set sales targets and define strategy to achieve these targets and to follow the set strategy punctually
- Manage the proposal development process and maintain the time-lines for the proposal teams
- Coordinate with sponsors concerning size, standards, conditions and timing of research
- Develop draft proposals based on team meetings and discussions
- Maintain the Business Development databases
- Support marketing activities, including trade/ scientific shows, mailings, etc.
- Any other duties assigned by management/board
Minimum Education:
First degree in any of the social sciences or a numerate discipline; Masters’ Degree will be an advantage
Skill/Competence :
- Excellent communications skills
- Self-motivation
- Outstanding ability to sell
- Strong writing and presentation skills
- Excellent negotiation, closing and follow-up skills
- Market research experience
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite
