The National Institute for Legislative Studies (NILS) was established early in 2011 following the enactment of the enabling legislation. NILS is designed to be a centre of excellence providing technical support to the work of the National Assembly through research and publications on democratic governance, and legislative practice and procedures.

Responsibilities
- Assist with sundry verifications
- Assist with posting and examining vouchers
- Other functions may be assigned by the Director-General
Qualifications and Requirements
- A good honours degree or HND in accounting from a recognized institute/university plus the professional diploma of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria
- A minimum of one year post degree experience
